Meet the Department of Horticulture’s Newest Staff Member….

Hello Horticulture! My name is Steven Netcott. I was recently brought on to provide IT support to Horticulture and Seed Science. I have been a Cyclone ever since I was brought into this world. The doctor at Mary Greeley tried to put the Cy hat on my head, but unfortunately, my head was too big! Growing up, I enjoyed VEISHA and Iowa State football. I stared my IT career working for Extension IT as a Computer Support Technician in 2011. In 2014 I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State and accepted a full-time position with Extension IT. In my role with Extension IT, I supervised a team of student staff, participated as a member of the Infrastructure team, and provided first-line desktop support to the Vice President for Extension and Outreach’s office. Aside from my career, I have a wife and 2 children ages 6 and 4. We live in Slater and love it there. I am excited for this new role and to continue my career with CALS IT. I look forward to meeting all of you and helping with your IT needs.
