Graduate Student Alejandra Feliciano Awarded Prize in the Agricultural Business Plan Competition

Alejandra Feliciano, a graduate student in Horticulture was awarded $5,000 in the Agricultural Business Plan Competition developed by ISU’s Agricultural Entrepreneurship initiative sponsored by Stine Seed Company and Summit Group.  Undergraduate and graduates students from 15 land-grant universities competed.  Alejandra was one of 3 national winners for the event.


Department of Horticulture Faculty Receive Awards

Dr. Ajay Nair has been named recipient of the 2015 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Early Achievement in Extension and Outreach Award.         Ms. Lisa Orgler has been named recipient of the 2015 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Excellence in Teaching by Lecturers and Adjunct Faculty Award.


New Master Gardener Program Assistant Hired

Melon Mania participants smash fruit for fundraiser on ISU central campus

The event provided an estimated 2000 melons to be used for carnival games. Game winners received tickets that were used in raffles to win items such as university apparel, gift cards, coupons and board games. The melons did not go to waste. All of these melons were grown at Iowa State by students and staff….
