Iowa State University Turf Club Places at National STMA Competition

Iowa State University Turfgrass Management students joined industry leaders at the 26th Annual STMA Conference & Exhibition in Denver, CO from January 13-16, 2015. Students were able to attend educational sessions, network with industry leaders, secure summer internship opportunities, and compete at the national level to put their turfgrass and sports turf knowledge to the test.
Among the special activities scheduled was the annual STMA Student Challenge. Iowa State University took 3 teams this year consisting of 11 students.
The team consisting of Conrad Pannkuk, Desmond Decker, Brandon Bousema, and Ryan May placed 5th in the 4-year institution category; and the team consisting of Zack Olinger, Eric Langford, Mike Saaranen, and Georgenna Heitshusen placed 8th in the 4-year institution category.
