Hort 530 - Research Orientation

Purpose:

This class will introduce new graduate students in Iowa State's horticulture major to the program's researchers and to the topics they study. Students will be integrated into the program and will learn of resources available in their major. Collegial relationships will be fostered among student peers and with program staff. Specific skills pertaining environmental monitoring and reporting, poster and oral presentations, and scientific writing will be gained. Students will write a proposal for their thesis or dissertation and present it to others in the program.
